Join Shinkei as a Software Engineer - Test

What you get to do:
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) triage for software and system failures observed during testing and field deployments
- Own test data analysis and reporting using our test software platform (Nominal), including scripting, report generation, signal analysis, or creating internally used dashboards.
- Design, build, and maintain automated alerting to identify failure patterns, regressions, and reliability risks
- Maintain SITL/HITL infrastructure and create tests to assist the software team catch new issues early and often
- Develop and execute Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) that validate robot behavior, safety, and performance before shipping out the door
What you will need:
- 3-5+ years of experience in software test engineering, robotics, embedded systems, or a related field
- Experience performing and leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across software and hardware boundaries
- Strong experience writing automation and test infrastructure code (Python required; C++ a plus)
- Industry experience working with Unix operating systems and terminal commands
- Practical experience with SITL/HITL testing, simulation-based validation, or test stand development
- Hands-on experience working with physical hardware such as motors, pumps, sensors, actuators, or electromechanical systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when documenting failures, test results, and recommendations
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration, or deployment tooling

- This is a 100% in office role which requires working directly with real robotic hardware, not a pure QA or manual testing position
- You will have real ownership over test infrastructure that directly impacts robot safety, reliability, and uptime!
- We move fast and test in a production-like environment – this includes with live fish in our waterproof test room
