Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Lab Coordinator to support daily operations of our robotics test lab. This role is responsible for coordinating fish procurement and inventory, managing test room scheduling, maintaining lab infrastructure and equipment, and ensuring operational readiness for engineering testing and on-site demonstrations. The position is 100% on-site at our El Segundo facility during standard business hours and requires both administrative coordination and hands-on participation in lab operations, including fish intake and facility upkeep.

What You Get To Do:

  • Coordinate live and dead fish ordering requests and delivery to ensure availability for scheduled testing
  • Manage frozen fish inventory, ensure consistent labeling, and maintain quantities required for scheduled and unplanned uses
  • Establish organization and maintain stock of Test Operations consumables and Test Engineering articles, assets, and parts
  • Own scheduling, prioritization, and cross-team coordination of Test Operation activities utilizing shared assets
  • Coordinate and prepare Test Operations for investor, customer, and executive demonstrations
  • Maintain overall cleanliness/sanitation, organization, and operational readiness of the test lab
  • Manage equipment calibration schedules and maintain accurate calibration records
  • Maintain and oversee shared development resources, including 3D printers
  • Coordinate building facilities needs, including maintenance requests and vendor access
  • Develop, document, and maintain Test Operations standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Direct and coordinate interns to support lab operations, inventory management, and upkeep
  • Personally assist with fish intake, handling, inventory management, and cleanup as needed
  • Serve as the central coordination point between other departments and Test Operations/Engineering

What You Will Need

  • 2+ years of experience in lab operations, facilities coordination, operations management, or similar environment
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to create and maintain basic inventory management systems
  • Ability to create and maintain clear documentation and SOPs
  • Experience with task management and scheduling tools (Asana preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in wet, cold, and physically demanding environments
  • Comfortable handling live and dead fish, including processing and post-test clean-up
  • Proactive mindset and communication style to ensure prioritization, schedule, and status are mutually understood
