Join Shinkei as a Volume Sales Manager - Black Cod
Remote • Full Time • $160K-$200K
What you get to do:
- Identify, pursue, and close high-volume black cod sales with national accounts, large-scale foodservice distributors, retail chains, and international buyers
- Develop and manage an export sales pipeline targeting key markets in Asia, Europe, and other regions
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms on large-volume transactions
- Build and maintain relationships with major buyers, trading companies, and import/export partners
- Monitor global black cod market conditions, pricing trends, and supply dynamics to inform sales strategy
- Collaborate with sourcing and operations teams to align supply with customer commitments
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and buyer meetings
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and volume targets
- Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting on pipeline activity and closed business
- Work closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of domestic and international orders
What you will need:
- 5+ years of commodity seafood sales experience with a focus on black cod (sablefish)
- Demonstrated history of closing large-volume deals with national accounts or export markets
- Deep understanding of black cod grading, sizing, product forms, and market pricing
- Established network of buyers in domestic and/or international markets
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex, high-value transactions
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Experience with export documentation, international trade logistics, and compliance
- Existing relationships with buyers in Japan, China, or other key export markets
- Familiarity with quota management, seasonal supply fluctuations, and Alaska/West Coast fisheries
- Bilingual abilities (Japanese, Mandarin, or Spanish) a plus

We are looking for a driven, numbers- and results-oriented Commodity Sales Manager to lead our black cod sales efforts at scale. This role is focused on securing and expanding high-volume accounts—whether large national buyers, anchor accounts, or international export customers. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of closing significant new business in the seafood commodity space and thrives in a fast-moving, deal-driven environment.
