Join Shinkei as a Field Technician
El Segundo, CA / Portland, OR - Seattle, WA Corridor • Full Time • $65K–$95K
What you get to do:
- Travel to fishing docks across the United States (approximately 50 percent travel) to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Poseidon robotic processing systems
- Execute mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic work following engineering procedures and safety standards
- Repair electro-mechanical assemblies including motors, actuators, gearboxes, and harnessing
- Use GUI diagnostic tools to gather logs and surface findings to engineering
- Coordinate dockside logistics including freight, parts, and service providers
- Support captains and deck crews through hands-on training and early deployment runs at sea
- When not traveling, work on-site (CA) or in Chinook/remote (WA/OR) to build robots, maintain spares, prep tooling, and support reliability testing
What you will need:
- 1 plus years of experience working with electro-mechanical systems, ideally in field service or industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools and industrial machinery
- Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate when issues fall outside the plan
- Solid troubleshooting instincts and comfort working independently in remote or dynamic environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with both engineers and vessel operators
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Basic familiarity with diagnostics or CLI tools
- Crimping, harness building, or electrical troubleshooting
- Automotive, marine, or industrial machinery repair
